The Heart of the Home: The Kitchen

The kitchen is the centerpiece of this renovation, featuring bright white cabinetry and light wood flooring. To complement this clean palette, we installed polished Taj Mahal Quartzite for both the perimeter countertops and the expansive kitchen island.

  • Island Focal Point: The stunning movement and subtle warm veining of the Taj Mahal draw the eye across the generous island, which also features an integrated sink. This quartzite is not only gorgeous but incredibly durable—perfect for everyday use.

  • Cohesive Look: By carrying the same stone across all surfaces, we ensured a seamless, sophisticated flow. The backsplash, in a neutral tile, enhances the stone’s warm tones without competing with it.

Why Taj Mahal? This popular natural stone is technically a quartzite, meaning it offers the beautiful look of marble (with delicate, flowing veins) but with the superior strength and heat resistance of granite. It is an ideal choice for busy kitchens!

Extending Luxury to the Living Space

One of the highlights of this project was carrying the Taj Mahal theme beyond the kitchen and into the main living area.

For the fireplace surround, we used the same exquisite stone. This choice instantly elevated the fireplace from a simple feature to a genuine architectural element. The quartzite’s creamy beige and taupe tones create a beautiful frame for the gas log set, linking the aesthetics of the kitchen and the living space seamlessly.
