The Countertop Process
What is the best way to start my countertop project?
The best way to begin is by visiting our shop. We ask that customers bring a rough layout or drawing of their tops. At the shop, you can look at and select samples of materials you are interested in. We will then provide you with a detailed price estimate via email.
What happens after I approve the price estimate?
Once you are ready to commit to the project, Karl will schedule a visit to your home to laser measure your kitchen (or bath) for exact specifications before fabrication begins.
What does the project process involve?
We strive to provide a stress-free experience, managing the project from initial selection to installation. The process generally includes:
- Shop Visit & Pricing: Providing your layout and selecting materials to receive an estimate.
- Commitment & Laser Measure: Approving the estimate, followed by an in-home measurement by Karl.
- Fabrication: Crafting your custom countertops in our facility.
- Installation: Expert installation by our experienced team.
Does All Stone handle the removal of my old countertops?
Yes, as part of our comprehensive service, our professional team will carefully remove and responsibly dispose of your existing countertops before installing your new ones.
How long does the installation typically take?
The timeline varies, but most standard residential kitchen or bathroom countertop installations can be completed within one day.
Products & Materials
What stone materials do you offer for countertops?
We are committed to using the highest quality natural and engineered stone materials. Our primary stone options include:
- Granite
- Quartz
- Quartzite
- Marble
What is the difference between Granite, Quartz, and Marble?
The primary difference is their composition:
Granite & Marble are natural stones, offering unique patterns. Granite is highly durable, while Marble is softer and requires more care. Quartz is an engineered stone (quartz mineral and resins). It is non-porous, consistent in color, and requires minimal maintenance.
Do you offer outdoor or commercial countertop services?
Yes, we excel in crafting custom stone countertops for outdoor living spaces and specialize in durable surfaces for commercial projects.
Care & Durability
Do stone countertops require sealing?
It depends on the material, but we make maintenance easy:
- Granite and Marble: We apply a professional-grade sealer that lasts for up to 15 years, significantly reducing your maintenance efforts.
- Quartzite: Sealing requirements for Quartzite depend on the particular color and porosity of the slab; we will advise you on whether sealing is necessary for your selection.
- Engineered Quartz: Due to its non-porous nature, quartz does not require sealing.
How do I clean and care for my new stone countertops?
For daily cleaning of all materials, use a soft cloth with a mild soap and water solution or a specially formulated stone cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia, or highly acidic cleaners, as these can damage the finish or the stone itself.
Do you offer a warranty?
We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and materials. Please ask your consultant for specific details regarding the material manufacturer’s warranty and our installation guarantee.
